With weather like this, even a McDonald's can be attractive!
Kiev 88 with Mir-26 45mm, 4s at f/16 on Fuji Provia 400F. Colors were corrected (and slightly desaturated) while scanning the slide at 600 dpi with an HP 5370C. The picture was resized and sharpened with Paintshop Pro.

OK, it's a pretty literal and uninspired interpretation of the theme, but I did try something in the last week of November, so I thought I'd submit it. I'm not proud. Or not very.
Camera - Kiev 60. Lens - Kodak meniscus achromat doublet (stripped from a Kodak 1A Autographic Jr., aperture restricter removed, placed via drilled out lens cap on a Pentax helical closeup ring and that in turn mounted on an M42 to P6 adapter of mine own creation.) Aperture: f6.5 approx. Shutter: 1/2 second. Film: Ilford HP5+ at EI 400 in Ilford DDX.

Warmth of Autumn (43KB)
Every autumn the Japanese maple trees at my school explode in brilliant reds, oranges, and yellows.
When I first saw this leaf, I thought the worm eaten area and the spider webs made it not worth photographing... but the more I looked at it, the more I was intrigued by Mother Nature at work, even on such a small scale. Now I think the "defects" add character to the image, and perhaps it is better than a perfect leaf after all.

A small boy gathers some 'fallen gold' as autumn turns local gingko trees into a golden canopy above. The beauty of autumn leaves and clear skies is warmth for the soul... enough to last for all of winter.
